I lost my design portfolio to a hard drive malfunction. I had a backup drive that I had recently copied everything onto, from a master drive , so I could format the master, and then replace the documents. As soon as I finished formatting the master drive, the open face backup drive fell off a desk, crashing to the floor. It was immediately unrecognizable by the computer, and every document that I had two working copies of just minutes earlier was gone. I'm in the process of searching through old thumb drives and SD cards for any old layouts and graphic design work I can find. I knew I shouldn't have thrown away that stack of printed pieces I had sitting on my shelf for years. Not to mention all the old 100MB Zip disks and CD-Rs.
